In 2007, Public Health Canada introduced October as Canada's Autism Awareness Month.

Needless to say, a lot has changed since 2007 and it is time that the conversation around autism catches up.

At Autism Canada, we believe that people are well aware of what autism is. It's time to change the message.

ACCEPTANCE IS THE NEW AWARENESS

That’s why we propose that starting this October, Autism Awareness Month should be recognized as Autism Acceptance Month.

By adding your name to this list, you will be telling our elected officials that words matter and that we want their language around autism to change.
