Sadly, the amount of plastic waste has been surging recently because of the pandemic, potentially causing long-term impacts on our environment. The last two years have seen a large increase in single-use plastics and high numbers of masks, takeaway coffee cups, and food packaging littering our outdoor areas.
But Clean Up Australia Day can help reduce this! We’re urging you to sign-up and take part in the country’s largest community-based environmental day to support our planet! Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday 6 March 2022 is a great opportunity to get a small group of friends, family and neighbours together in a safe way to give back to your community. Since Clean Up Australia began 32 years ago, 19M+ Australians and 38.5M hours of volunteer time has been donated to Clean Up activities to benefit the
environment.
Just a single day can make a big difference! Clean Up Australia provides free Clean Up kits (including gloves and bags) for various group sizes, and other materials to ensure your clean up event is a success, or BYO material options for those of you who want to cut down on additional waste.
