Some people plunge themselves into freezing water, others shimmy onto the dance floor and shake it to the beat...

We humans do all kinds of things to get pumped on life. At komoot, it’s adventure that fuels us. We think the humble bicycle is an A+ freedom machine, and bikepacking is an A+ way to embrace that freedom. No desolate gravel roads in a remote corner of the map necessary. No ultra-lightweight kit required.

All it takes to stir your inner bikepacker is the desire to discover more, a little spare time, and maybe a nudge to set yourself a new challenge.

Ride – Camp – Ride

If it’s a nudge you need, consider the Ride – Camp – Ride Challenge your official adventure permission slip. Set yourself a bikepacking challenge in September that’s doable in 48 hours or less. Not only will you bag yourself an awesome summertime adventure, you could be celebrating your achievement with a year’s subscription to komoot Premium, or even a Cannondale Topstone bike.

Off-road capable and on-road comfortable, Topstone is built for chasing horizons, exploring routes less travelled or accelerating your bikepacking adventure.

What counts as a bikepacking challenge?

As far as we’re concerned, bikepacking is 2 rides with an overnight stop in-between: Ride – Camp – Ride. To stand a chance to win, all you need to do is ride a bikepacking route that fits into 48-hours or less. You set your own challenge, whether it’s getting out on your first ever multi-day ride, bringing your kids along for the first time, or pushing the distance you can cover in a 48-hour period. If you consider it a challenge, we’ll consider it a challenge.

How we’ll award the prizes

Ride – Camp – Ride is not a competition. There are no points for speed or distance, and style won’t necessarily come into it. Just like on an adventure, our panel of bikepacking pros will go with the flow and embrace the entries that come in.

Maybe you’re new to bikepacking and your kit list is full of hacks. We might give you a prize for the most creative rig. Honed your camping breakfast to a lightweight nutritional feast? You could find yourself with a Best Brekkie award.

Ultimately, our panel will be looking for Tours that they feel capture the spirit of adventure – an unapologetically subjective criterion. Winners will be contacted by email.
