Loras has allowed me to excel in my studies, create great connections with faculty, staff, friends and alumni. Loras provided the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone to become more diverse and familiar with different cultures and backgrounds.
Having professors that genuinely care about and invest in their students and staff that will go out of their way to help or just put a smile on your face is what Loras is all about. Loras has helped me become the best person I can be, and I couldn’t have made a better decision.
Throughout my four years, I have been involved in different sports and clubs; these include Loras LEAF, DuBuddies, intramural basketball and volleyball, and Track and Cross Country for two years.
I am so fortunate for the kindhearted Loras community that has helped to provide many other students and me the chance to come to Loras at a more affordable cost. Their generosity is the perfect example of what it means to be a Duhawk and supporting each other no matter the cost.
After graduation, I plan to either join the Peace Corps or go to graduate school and continue my studies towards a master's in social work.
Jack is an example of Duhawks who succeed thanks to the financial support of alumni and other benefactors to the College.
Thanks to an anonymous $500,000 challenge gift from a Duhawk supporter, Loras has launched the Challenge Match for Student Aid initiative. The donor is challenging Loras alumni, family and friends to match the gift $1:$1 between now and October 31, doubling the impact and allowing more students to excel at the College.
