The UAE is moving forward in building a universal model to bring innovative ideas to fruition and serve humanity as a whole, according to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Sheikh Mohammed's statement came during the opening of 2071 Zone, the main core of the Emirates model 2071, which stems from the UAE Centennial Vision 2071 that originated during a historic lecture by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The zone, located at Emirates Towers, is designed to serve as the headquarters of global smart companies, services and labs, and will work to create innovative solutions and tools, in accordance with future requirements and technologies. Additionally, the zone will seek to unify efforts and initiatives that target the future and will represent an umbrella that joins all government accelerators, Dubai Future Accelerators, and the World Youth Centre.
"We are working to make the UAE a main driver for the future of governments and today we launch the 2071 Zone in the heart of Dubai to design the future, as constructive minds gather, share opinions and various experiences, as they meet in the UAE to innovate, create and help the world to overcome various future challenges, to become the core that will summarise the future of the world in 50 years," Sheikh Mohammed said on Sunday.
The 2071 Zone is in line with the UAE Centennial Vision 2071 which aims to provide future generations in the UAE with a happier life in a better environment, and with greater opportunities, stronger communications and more influence in the world."
"All the large and medium foundations and innovative minds are welcome to be the key partners and drivers in this massive project, which the entire world would benefit from and would draw a brighter future for the region," Sheikh Mohammed added. "The zone will be the interface in which creative individuals and organisations will present suitable solutions for the major challenges facing humanity and will design the world's future."
The 2071 Zone is named after the UAE's Centennial Vision 2071 - the government's long term plan that marks the 100 years since the establishment of the UAE, and aims to invest in the country's youth and work force with the ultimate aim of making it the most advanced country in the world.
