To celebrate the release of SPANDEX AND THE CITY, Jenny T. Colgan’s funny and fabulous new novel about the trials of dating a superhero, we’re running a super competition!

We’re giving away the chance to win two tickets to Afternoon Tea with Jenny Colgan at the Edinburgh Book Festival on 24th August 2017, plus two return train tickets to Edinburgh from any mainland UK train station.

Not only will the winner have the chance to attend the event, you’ll also get to meet Jenny Colgan in person afterwards.

To enter, all you’ll have to do is comment on Jenny Colgan’s Facebook page here  to tell us (in one sentence) who your ultimate man is and why.

Whether it’s your favourite dreamy celeb or that special someone in your life, we want to hear who your ultimate heart-throb is and why they can sweep you off your feet any day.

Jenny Colgan will pick the winner by selecting her favourite comment from all the entries on her Facebook page.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. This is a competition for one winner to win two tickets to the Afternoon Tea with Jenny Colgan event at 4pm on Thursday 24th August at the Edinbugh Book Festival, plus two return train tickets from any mainland UK train station to Edinburgh. The winner may select any dates to travel to and from Edinburgh between 21st- 31st August 2017. To enter, please leave a comment in the relevant place on Jenny Colgan’s Facebook page to tell us (in one sentence) who your ultimate man is and why.
  2. The winner will be selected from the correct entries received in accordance with these terms and conditions by Jenny Colgan, who will pick her favourite entry and whose decision will be final.
  3. There is no purchase necessary to enter.
  4. The competition opens at 12:01 am BST on Thursday 3rd August 2017 and closes at 11:59 pm BST on Thursday 10th August 2017. Any entries received outside these specified times and dates will not be eligible for entry into the competition
  5. The winner will be contacted on Facebook before the end of Monday 14th August 2017.
  6. The winner may see their entry posted on the Orbit Books (hereinafter the ’Company’) website and on other websites and social media accounts.
  7. The winner must inform Orbit before the end of Wednesday 16th August 2017 about which UK mainland train station they wish to travel from and on what dates between 21st- 31st August 2017. Both ticket holders must travel together.
  8. The competition prize does not include accommodation, meals or any other incidental expenses.
  9. The prize draw is open to anyone aged 16 or over in the United Kingdom except employees of the Company, their families, or anyone professionally connected to the competition either themselves or through their families. If the winner is under 18 years of age, the winner will be asked to have his or her guardian complete waivers, consent forms and/or other documentation as prerequisite for being awarded the prize.
  10. Only one entry per person allowed. Second or subsequent entries will be disqualified. Entries will not be accepted via agents, third parties or in bulk.
  11. By submitting your entry, you agree and warrant that (i) your entry is your own original work; (ii) nothing in your entry is defamatory, private or an infringement of copyright or other intellectual property right or in any way a breach of another’s right; (iii) any music used in your entry is original to you or you have written permission from the owner. We reserve the right to ask for the permission before any prize is distributed. Any entry in breach of this clause will be disqualified from participating in the competition and from winning any prize.
  12. By entering the competition, you hereby grant to the Company an irrevocable, perpetual, royalty free, worldwide and for all languages, licence to copy, adapt, edit, distribute, publish, sublicense, and in any and all other ways use your entry for any purpose, in any manner and in all media now known or hereinafter devised. Furthermore, you waive all moral rights whatsoever in your entry. For the avoidance of doubt, the Company is under no obligation to make any use of your entry and the Company shall make no payment to you for any use of your entry.
  13. We reserve the right to use all the submissions received on our website, our Facebook pages and on our other social networking sites. We will try to include the name of the entrant but this may not always be possible.
  14. Entries will not be returned.
  15. The Company is not responsible for contacting or forwarding prizes to entrants who provide unclear or incomplete information or for entries lost, misdirected, delayed or destroyed.
  16. The Company reserves the right to alter the prizes or cancel the prize draw without notice. No cash alternatives to prizes will be provided.
  17. The winner’s name will be published on the Orbit social media channels before Monday 14th August.

  19. The email addresses of entrants may be shared with companies within the Hachette group of companies but will not be shared with other companies outside the Hachette group. It will be used by the Hachette companies to send you news about books, products and promotions.   20. By entering the prize draw you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
