We’re studying the feasible rehabilitation & replacement options for the Ballard Bridge.

We’re launching a planning study to assess the future of the Ballard Bridge.

The study explores feasible rehabilitation & replacement options & provides a comparison of associated costs & critical metrics, including community priorities.

While the study won’t recommend a preferred option, it’ll help us better understand, prioritize, and look for funding opportunities to reduce our maintenance backlog. The study is funded through the Levy to Move Seattle and will also inform our upcoming Ballard-Interbay Regional Transportation Corridor Study pending receipt of state funding.

We’re just getting started and plan to work closely with agency partners, modal advisory boards, and community members over the next six months.

To develop bridge options that incorporate the broad needs & values of the community & people using the bridge, our 1st step is surveying people on current & desired bridge use.

Share your input on the future of the Ballard Bridge.

The survey will be open until Sunday, July 7.  This summer, we’ll host a public event sharing what we heard and how the study is being developed. Later in the year, we’ll return to have you compare and comment on the feasible options.
