It seems Kim Gordon’s art world takeover is just getting started.

At this year’s Los Angeles Art Book Fair, which will be held at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA), the former Sonic Youth frontwoman will be representing Gagosian Gallery with a pop-up record store. Titled “Living on the Edge of Obscurity,” the project is in collaboration with Feeding Tube Records from Florence, MA.

According to the release, the gallery booth, which takes its inspiration from the record shop’s a “resistance to the status quo,” will feature original record covers by artists such as Rita Ackermann, Richard Prince, Laura Owens, and Jim Shaw. Like all good record stores, this one will also have a listening booth.

Gordon’s artistic career started in the late 70s, after studying at the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. In recent years, she has been focusing more on her art practice, but still making music through her group Body/Head, with Bill Nace. She has been represented by the 303 Gallery in New York since 2014.

The event is hosted by Printed Matter, and this year’s edition will be the fourth installment of their annual art book fair. According to the organization, last year’s iteration of the event was attended by over 34,000 visitors and hosted over 250 presses, booksellers, antiquarians, artists, and independent publishers from around the world.

The fair, which is free and open to the public, opens on February 12 and runs through February 14.
