With the 50th anniversary of England’s famous 1966 World Cup heroics just around the corner, digital agency, Clock, is taking an altruistic approach to marking the occasion and has designed commemorative discs in support of the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK with the help of Sir Geoff Hurst.

The Bobby Moore Gold Discs pay homage to England’s World Cup winning captain and have been produced by Brilliant Memorabilia.

Each disc has been personally signed by fellow squad member Sir Geoff Hurst who remains the only man ever to score a hat-trick in a World Cup final.

The 'Three Lions' discs feature the line-up of the 66’ team and include lyrics of the iconic song written by the Lightening Seeds and recorded with Baddiel and Skinner.

To mark the 30 July 50th anniversary of the occasion the National Football Museum will stage a 1966 World Cup Exhibition which it says will incorporate "new immersive technology to recreate the atmosphere of Wembley", which lets fans experience the game from inside the stadium on that fateful day.

Among the prized mementos on show at the jointly staged exhibition in Manchester and Wembley, will be the Bobby Moore Gold Disc which has been donated by Bobby Moore’s widow, Stephanie Moore.

Stephanie Moore said: “1966 was clearly a very special year for every England football fan and Bobby was so proud to be part of that. It is amazing to think that even 50 years on the victory remains a core part of every England football fan’s heritage.”

Moore described the commemorative discs as “a beautiful celebration of the anniversary of 1966” and added “hopefully it will give a lot of people a joyous reminder of that special day”.

She added: “I am thrilled that the Bobby Moore Fund will benefit from the sales, as the money it will raise will help us continue the important work battling cancer we do in Bobby’s name.’

Sir Geoff Hurst said the fundraiser was “a brilliant tribute to our sporting success and the occasion of 1966”.

“England football fans are the best in the world and Bobby was one of the great captains I knew, so I have been honoured to sign each and every one of the discs personally. I hope they bring people joy and help Stephanie with her work.’

The discs retail at £395 for the 12” framed version and £295 for the 7” framed one and are available to buy here.
