Herbs at home

Learn some new tips and recipes, and have a taste or two, at the Cooking with Herbs from Your Garden class being taught by Bobby Morse at the Atlantic Design Center in York, Maine. Morse, who worked with Julia Child and Jacques Pepin for the "Cooking in Concert" series on PBS, also owned and operated one of the first organic farms in New Hampshire with his wife. Their focus was to grow organic herbs and vegetables for the Boston market and for some of the best restaurants in that city; they also produced herbal vinegars and jams. The class will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the Design Center in the Eldredge Building, 627 Route 1. Reserve a spot at the free event by emailing mclaesson@eldredgelumber.com or calling (207) 363-3004. Donations will be accepted to benefit the York Community Service Association.
