Davis and the Bulldog offense put up 572 yards of total offense, averaged nearly eight yards per play, and registered 30 first downs as they defeated Elizabeth City State, 79-6, on senior day. FOOD LION QUARTERBACK OF THE WEEK #16 Larry Williams, Bowie State (Jr, QB - Baltimore, MD) In his first start of the season, Williams completed 10 of 16 passes for 174 yards with a 23-yard touchdown pass to Kwincy Hall. The junior signal-caller also rushed for 63 yards, helping BSU put up a program record 398 rushing yards, and added another two scores to lead the nationally-ranked Bulldogs to a 79-6 win over Elizabeth City State. FOOD LION RECEIVER OF THE WEEK #1 Imeek Watkins, Chowan (Sr, WR - Wilmington, NC) Watkins caught a season-high 12 passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns. The senior playmaker also totaled 110 return yards, including a 50-yard punt return for a touchdown, as Chowan defeated Lincoln, 28-12, to finish with their highest win total since 1983, the most during their NCAA era. FOOD LION OFFENSIVE BACK OF THE WEEK #6 Calil Wilkins, Bowie State (Sr, RB - Temple Hills, MD) Wilkins ran for a game-high 137 yards on 14 carries to help Bowie State rush for a program record 398 yards in their 79-6 win over Elizabeth City State. The senior from Temple Hills, MD also scored three of the Bulldogs' eight rushing touchdowns for the game. FOOD LION DEFENSIVE BACK OF THE WEEK #4 Deiontae Jones, Winston-Salem State (Sr, DB - Fayetteville, NC) Jones tallied a game-high 15 total tackles, including eight solos, against rival Fayetteville State. The senior defender also forced a fumble and had a pass breakup. Jones' tackle total was a single-game high in the conference this season. FOOD LION LINEBACKER OF THE WEEK #6 Damontay Rhem, Virginia Union (Gr, LB - East Wake, NC) Rhem registered a game-high 12 total tackles, including two and a half tackles for loss, in Virginia Union's 20-13 come from behind win over rival Virginia State in front of a national audience on AspireTV. The East Wake, NC native also recovered a fumble, returning it 71 yards to help set up a touchdown for the Panthers offense and ignite their comeback efforts. Rhem's 12 total tackles were the most in a game by a CIAA linebacker this season. FOOD LION DEFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK #44 Marcus Davis, Saint Augustine's (Jr, DL - Raleigh, NC) Davis totaled four tackles and a sack in Saint Augustine's 21-17 upset win over crosstown rival Shaw in the Raleigh Classic. The junior from Raleigh, NC also recovered a fumble and returned it 18 yards for a touchdown to help the Falcons secure their first win of the season. FOOD LION SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK #47 Alen Omerhodzic, Bowie State (RS Fr, K/P, - Bowie, MD) Omerhodzic nailed of his 10 extra point attempts while adding a 35-yard field goal in #14 Bowie State's 79-6 win over Elizabeth City State. The redshirt freshman kicker also had 13 kickoffs for 756 yards with two touchbacks. FOOD LION ROOKIE OF THE WEEK #7 Jada Byers, Virginia Union (Fr, RB - Hammonton, NJ) Byers carried 21 times for 114 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning score with 30 seconds remaining in the game, in VUU's 20-13 win over Virginia State. On the season, the Hammonton, NJ native leads all CIAA freshmen with 910 yards rushing along with a CIAA-best 12 rushing touchdowns.
