Uzbekistan constructs new gas pipeline

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan started construction of a new gas pipeline, which will link main gas pipelines Gazli-Nukus and Bukhara-Ural.
The project is values at 120 billion soums. The length of the gas pipeline will be 74 km and it will be constructed in the territories of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region.
The project is implemented in three stages. First two stages were completed. Within the third stage, it is planned to construct 850 meters of the gas pipeline with a diameter of 1020 mm at a depth of 20 meters in the mainstream of the Amudarya. It is expected that construction works will be completed by September 2016.
New gas pipeline will improve pressure in gas system of Khorezm region.
Distribution station Urganch-2, construction of which was completed, will be able to control pressure in any period of the year.
